RIDING INSTRUCTORS
NHTEC recommends that you use instructors who have been recommended to you, and that you check they have necessary insurance.
TRAINERS
NHTEC recommends that you check trainers have the necessary insurance, that they promote the use of positive reinforcement / Learning Theory and always ask for recommendations. Only use a trainer that has been recommended to you. Do not trust scurrilous claims of qualifications and experience… Sadly there is a lot of so-called ‘experts’ out there… Be warned, check up on them!
TRIMMERS/FARRIERS
The NHTEC advises you to check that any trimmer you use is registered with either the UKNHCP or if it is a Farrier, then the Farriers Registration Council.

ICE - A SENSIBLE IDEA IN AN EMERGENCY
East Anglian Ambulance Service have launched a national "In case of
Emergency ( ICE ) " campaign with the support of Falklands war hero
Simon Weston and in association with Vodafone's annual life savers award.
"In Case of Emergency (ICE)" campaign.
The idea is that you store the word " I C E "in your mobile phone address
book, and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted 'In Case of Emergency'. It's such a simple idea but could be really helpful in an emergency - it would save ambulance crews and hospital staff time and would ensure that a patient's loved one and next of kin was contacted as soon as possible.
It's so simple that everyone can do it. Please do.
